The August Working Hour, *Next steps after installing a Wikibase instance
-- creating users, items, and properties*, will feature two Presentations:
-
*Next steps with WBStack*
*Presented by Ryan Mendenhall, Metadata Librarian, Columbia University*
Following on the WBStack session
<https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pE1hNqDolrknN2F1hUlPs0yTJSSf3sfs/view?usp=sharing>
earlier this year, this continuation will look briefly at WBStack
interfaces for Federated properties, Mappings, QuickStatements, and the
WBStack query service.
-
*Next steps with Wikibase*
*Presented by Jim Hahn, Head of Metadata Research at the Penn Libraries.*

from
Spring, this continuation will provide an overview of a local Wikibase
configuration once you have Wikibase running on your laptop. The following
tasks will be covered: account management features -- including adding
users; importing items and properties from Wikidata; a demonstration of
configuring and using the Wikibase query service. The Wikibase-docker
GitHub repository used in the previous session is archived and this session
will make use of the latest documentation: Wikibase/Docker - MediaWiki
<https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikibase/Docker>. The new docker compose
files live in wikibase-release-pipeline
<https://github.com/wmde/wikibase-release-pipeline>.
