Richland Library is seeking to hire a Full-Time Marketing and Communications Director at our Main location.

Sample Duties:

Effectively demonstrates characteristics of being enthusiastic, outgoing, and strongly customer-service oriented, including the application of the Richland Library’s customer engagement standards.
Greets customers &amp; successfully ascertains individualized needs and/or requirements for each customer.
Engages, encourages, and assists diverse customers in all areas of the Library in a welcoming, professional, and respectful manner.
Serves as manager and supervisor over Marketing and Communications Department (12 FTE) including Content Strategist and team of social media and multi-media; Art Director and creative team; Digital/Web team; Community Relations Manager and team and Internal Communications Coordinator.
Leads in creating, developing, implementing and measuring communication plans to support the library’s Strategic Plan,
Ensures the customer experience supports the library’s Strategic Plan, utilizes traditional media, online marketing, social and other tools.
Upholds the library’s commitment to excellent customer experiences, utilizing traditional paid media, public relations, online marketing, printed collateral, social media, internal communication channels and other tools.
Provides advice and recommendations to library executive leadership; contributes to long-range strategic planning for the library.

Marketing

Leads the development of digital-first marketing strategy and subsequent program elements resulting in acquisition and retention campaigns for customers, increased brand awareness and customer loyalty.
Directs the development of strategic and detailed marketing plans and oversees plan implementation and optimization to support library staff in their initiatives.
Serves as the library’s brand voice, expert and advocate for consistency, compliance and appropriate execution.

Community Relations
Following industry and library established best practices, ensures strong relationships with key stakeholders and robust media recognition and coverage of library events and initiatives
Digital Strategy

Supervises the maintenance and enhancement of library digital assets
Ensures that all campaigns and projects are delivered on time and on budget and support the library’s strategic plan goals and objectives.
Develops and maintains metrics for communication efforts.
Maintains responsibility for various functions related to marketing, including market research and analysis; market segmentation; customer relationship management system implementation and usage; and online and print publications.
Performs all appropriate budgeting duties related to the position.
Attends meetings and conferences as required; serves on committees and task forces as appropriate.
Performs other associated duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s from an accredited school in relevant area of study such as marketing, web design, information design, information technology or others. Master’s in a relevant area desirable. Transcripts must be provided upon hire.
7 or more years of professional experience, including managerial experience.
Skills and knowledge as detailed in job description; and abilities to perform job functions.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Ability to perform essential functions of the job.

Location, Salary &amp; Hours:

Where: Richland Library Main, 1431 Assembly St, Columbia, SC 29201

Salary Range: $78,000 - $105,290.25 annually plus excellent [benefits](https://www.richlandlibrary.com/employee-benefits).

Hours: 37.5 hours per week: Monday - Friday (9:00 am- 5:30 pm) with evening, weekend or emergency hours being possible.

Job Classification Level 119 (FLSA Status: Exempt)

** Richland Library may change location and schedule of any library job.
