Salary Range: Level 9 - Starting Salary, Step 1 $70,065 Posting Date: June 20, 2022 Closing Date: July 27, 2022 Job Summary:  Ontario Tech University Library seeks a dynamic and highly collaborative Digital Resources Librarian to join a dedicated team serving both Ontario Tech and Durham College.  Reporting to the Associate University Librarian, Digital Initiatives, the Digital Resources Librarian provides leadership and technical expertise, and broad support for traditional and emerging library software solutions and standards to ensure reliability, relevant functionality, and excellent user experience. These systems currently include library services platform (Alma), discovery layer (Primo VE), off-campus authentication services (EZProxy), publish and content management applications (Open Journal Systems/Libguides) and repository software (Dspace/Islandora).
Nature of work: 
Working in close collaboration with librarians and staff, the Digital Resources Librarian ensures consistent and reliable access to the digital/electronic resources and assets to support Ontario Tech University’s and Durham College’s teaching, learning and research mandates. This position is responsible for the day-to-day technical operations including access, licensing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and preservation of digital/electronic resources. In consultation with the Associate University Librarian, Scholarly Resources, tracks the development of new and changing e-resources, manages trials, and renewals. In addition, this position will be involved in troubleshooting library systems platform (LSP) issues identified by both users and members of the library team. 
The Library is a member of the Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL) and College Libraries Ontario (CLO), and this position serves as our representative for various consortium initiatives. The successful candidate will also participate in library-wide planning and policy making in a shared decision-making environment.
Responsibilities/accountabilities: 
•	Communicates with content providers to ensure timely and accurate access to licensed resources
•	 Monitors performance and assures reliable user access to resources through quality control and troubleshooting efforts
•	Communicates with vendors and Library staff to resolve problems with e- resources access as they arise and recommends appropriate solutions
•	Coordinates all link maintenance activities in cooperation with metadata services and other staff
•	Keep collections/e-resources current by gathering, generating, reviewing and loading MARC records from varied sources as well as create and update portfolio records in the library services system
•	In consultation with the Associate University Librarian, Scholarly Resources, tracks the development of new and changing e-resources, manages trials, and renewals
•	Manages the compilation and analysis of statistical data that supports e-resources collection decisions
•	Implements new approaches in acquiring and managing e-resources taking advantage of emerging technologies
•	Initiates, develops, evaluates, and supports the delivery of user-centred web initiatives
•	Works to extend the Library's presence into external sites (e.g. the University's learning management system, social media)
•	Incorporates appropriate Web-based tools to support users' information to knowledge experience
•	Supports teaching and learning by administering LibApps platform
•	Supports E-scholarship by maintaining and broadening the Institutional Repository, and participating in new initiatives
•	Explores and keeps abreast of trends in technology and their potential impact on library services
•	Promotes the awareness and use of emerging technologies
•	Serves on library, university, college, and external committees as appropriate
Required Skills: 
•	Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to deliver complex information to diverse audiences in multiple formats across various platforms and media
•	Understanding of issues of electronic resource management in an academic environment, including knowledge of copyright legislation and issues pertaining to digital content
•	Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
•	Ability to work independently or collaboratively and be flexible to changes
Systems
•	Demonstrated knowledge of working with integrated library systems (ILS) and/or library services platforms (LSP) preferably Ex Libris’s Alma/Primo platform
•	Knowledge of current metadata standards required, including MARC, RDA, KBART, OpenURL
•	Experience with bulk editing software such as MarcEdit
•	Familiarity with current web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Java, APIs and web services
•	Familiarity with guidelines and standards for web accessibility
•	In-depth knowledge and experience of Excel and SQL
Required Education: 
•	ALA Accredited Master’s degree in Library and Information studies.
* Verification of Academic credentials may be required Required Experience: 
•	Between 1 to 3 years relevant experience, preferably in an academic library
