UO LIbraries is looking for an applications developer who will work on a variety of projects in a team comprised of librarians and programmers.
This position provides high-level programming and technological solutions for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of UO Libraries’ open source and vended software products with a specific focus on supporting user-facing digital collections, digital research projects, web applications, and database-driven websites.
While we would love for you to join us on site or in a hybrid remote/on-site way, fully remote work is possible.
Active involvement in projects for UO Libraries units is a core part of daily work. Project requests are generated both by Libraries personnel and campus collaborators. Work includes: analyzing project requests; developing and testing robust, sustainable, accessible, and secure applications and websites; collaborating with other developers to create best practices, procedures, and clear documentation; and ensuring effective and efficient application maintenance.
We’re aware that some people are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every qualification in the job description including the preferred qualifications. We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job, and recognize that a successful candidate may come from a less traditional career trajectory, such as having skills and abilities gained outside a classroom context. We encourage you to apply, even if you don’t believe you meet every one of our preferred qualifications.
Minimum qualifications, professional competencies, and preferred skills are listed in the posting, in the link to the right; please do articulate any equivalencies in your letter so that we're sure we understand what you believe your qualifications to be.
