Senior Web Developer
Clemson University Libraries seeks a Senior Web Developer who will direct all aspects of the Libraries' external and internal web presence. This position will lead web-related strategic planning, goal setting, and policy development for the Libraries in coordination with leadership, stakeholders, and partners. This individual will perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities of the Senior Web Developer include:
Web Development and Management:
Directs all aspects of internal and external web presence for the Libraries. Designs and prototypes websites and themes. Maintains and schedules backups of content, users, and the content management system(s). Installs, modifies, and updates plugins and applications. Ensures compliance with current accessibility standards and university branding. Manages migration of legacy websites and applications into current systems. Supervises employees and students as needed. E/40%
Strategic Planning and Usability Testing:
Directs strategic planning for the Libraries' overall web presence. Develops and implements policies and standards for web presence in consultation with senior management, stakeholders, and partners. Consults with employees on the design of workflows and implementation of project management principles and tools to enhance work. Evaluates web presence through ongoing assessment of analytics data and regular usability testing. E/35%
Application Integration and Server Administration:
Collaborates with programmer to build integration interfaces between web applications and other internal and external systems. Performs web server and database administration tasks as needed at a Unix/Linux shell command line. Contributes to development, implementation, and assessment of other software applications. E/15%
Training and Compliance:
Regularly creates and maintains documentation. Provides training and technical support for content managers and partners. Adheres to and complies with all University standards and procedures. E/10%
Required Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
Two years demonstrated experience in web development
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
2 to 3+ years experience with WordPress and custom themes/plugins. Intermediate programming skills for application development with PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and jQuery. Database design & implementation.
Work Schedule: Standard Hours: 37.5, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
Salary: The pay band is 07. Expected Salary Range: $50,833 to $75,000
