Thinking about ad-free, no-network-connection-required, solitary games...
I have to give a shout out to a free (and now open source), excellent, cross-platform, turn-based game that is simple to pick up, but so deep with interconnections that it will take many(!)days/months to master and favors thinking over action with a built-in reference manual:
Pathos -- https://pathos.azurewebsites.net/
It is a Rogue-like game inspired by NetHack, but updated (e.g. non-binary characters), and the developer really listens and implement lots of fun-but-logical suggestions.
My apologies for going off the rails here, but I don't often get an opportunity to direct people to such a truly rare gem.
