Greetings,
Springshare offers an authentication mechanism, LibAuth, that might be useful in for you to consider when embedding Credo content in LibGuides. We use LibAuth for logging into LibApps and also for restricting access to some guides.
Once you set up LibAuth, you can set it to apply to certain guides while allowing public access to the rest. I've restricted LibGuides with LibAuth when receiving videos from vendors who sent us an embed code rather than a link to their video. It works very well.
LibAuth documentation: https://ask.springshare.com/libapps/search/?t=0&adv=1&topics=LibAuth%20Authentication
For now, we are still using EZproxy in tandem with Shibboleth authentication. For guides that have Credo content added, some of our teaching librarians prefer not to lock down the whole guide. In those instances, we've opted to add an off-campus login box prompting folks to login to EZproxy. If you have a login link that you can use, this might also suffice for your needs.
Here are a couple examples of what we've done: https://library.springfield.edu/using-sources and https://library.springfield.edu/wellness-300
Hope this helps!
Best,
Alli
