My esteemed listmates,

I'm hoping there might be a fresh look at this issue by others who may have
recently devised a solution?

Lenovo will provide no tech support for this oldr desktop.

I'm baffled that after trying so many suggestions I still can't get sound
from the computer speakers.

I can see the green volume bars go up and down but can only hear with a
headset.

These 2 pages seemed promising but I never see any screen for setting the
computer speakers as default.

There's a checkmark next to them.

*Why is lenovo laptop internal speakers not working but headphones are? *

I own a lenovo yoga laptop with windows 10 64 bit operating system.
Yesterday, My laptops internal speakers has stopped working all of sudden.
If I plugin the USB speakers. It works completely fine. So I am confused
about what to do in this situation.

Also, I did some research on the internet and made few changes into my
laptop but they didn't work.

1. Update the audio driver.

2. Restart the audio files.

3. Enabled the audio enhancement settings.

But no solution till now. What should I do now? Please help?

-Right click and Uninstall
-After restart the driver will be automatically installed.

-Select Sound.
-Select the Playback tab
-Right click the Speaker and click Enable.
-Right-click it again and select Set as Default Device.
-Right click Speaker and click Properties.
-Click the Levels tab, then drag the volume slider towards the largest
value.

Restart and check the audio.

If issue persist, let's download the updated driver.
What is the exact model of your computer?

To check the system model proceed with these steps.

Here are some settings to change in your laptop. then it will start working
fine.

*Select the speakers as default- *

   - Go to the control panel.
   - Click on the sound.
   - Select your internal speaker.
   - click on the set default button.
   - Now click on the properties and press the levels option.
   - Increase the volume now.
   - Press the apply changes button.

*Run sound troubleshooter- *

   - Right click on the sound icon at the taskbar.
   - Press the troubleshoot sound problems option.
   - Select Internal speakers.
   - now let it detect the problems, if it shows you some suggestions apply
   it on your devices.

*Uninstall the sound driver- *

When there are multiple audio drivers are available in the computer. they
might conflict with each other. in that case, you have to uninstall all
sound drivers.

   - open the device manager by executing the devmgmt.msc command.
   - Click on the sound, game and video controller
   - Right on the sound driver and press the uninstall button.
   - Now remove other drivers from the laptop too.
   - Restart the laptop now.

*Factory reset the computer- *If Lenovo laptop internal speakers are still
not working
<https://www.askprob.com/fix-lenovo-laptop-internal-speakers-not-working-but-headphones-are/>.
you need to factory reset the computer.

I didn't do a factory reset as I fear what I will lose doing that.

Thank you so much,

Charles.
