Dear colleagues,
This is a reminder for those with an interest in distributed preservation networks and community-based models for digital protection that our quarterly LOCKSS information session will be held tomorrow, June 7, at 7:00 AM PST/10:00 AM EST/3:00 PM GMT. Registration is free and open to all! Sign up here, or share the link with colleagues who may wish to attend:

In this one-hour meeting, we'll review the origins of the LOCKSS project, describe how "lots of copies keep stuff safe" in preservation networks using the LOCKSS open-source software and customized plugins, and share the ways in which different LOCKSS networks are creating community-based solutions for their members' digital preservation needs. LOCKSS Program team members and LOCKSS network representatives will be on hand to answer your questions during the session.
This session will also be recorded; those registered will receive a link to the recording after the event. Our information sessions are held quarterly and open to all. Registration links for the following future dates will be available on our web site, http://lockss.org:
* Thursday, August 29: 7:00 - 8:00 AM PST
* Thursday, December 5: 12:00 - 1:00 PM PST
If these scheduled dates and times don't work for you, or if you'd like to book a group session for your digital preservation students, library staff, or publishing colleagues, let us know! Just email Snowden Becker, LOCKSS Community Manager: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
Cheers,
Snowden
