Dear Colleagues,
We are excited to announce a public Call for Participation<https://archives.albany.edu/web/arclight_integration/cfp.html> in the ArcLight Integration Project! This initiative aims to develop open specifications for incorporating digital objects in ArcLight.
What We're Working On:
We need our archival description to provide remote access to born-digital and digitized materials. Our goal is to work with a group of archival data experts to create a sort of archivist-version of the Portland Common Data Model (PCDM).
Who We're Looking For:
We seek experienced practitioners to help define relationships between archival description and digital objects. We're looking for individuals with hands-on experience in describing archival materials across various contexts, such as ArchivesSpace, EAD, and more. If you have insights on connecting finding aids with digital objects, we want you!
Project Overview:
We are forming two key groups:
* Remote Cohort: Contribute local insights and help shape foundational project aspects over a series of virtual meetings from December 2-6, 2024.
* In-Person Cohort: A sub portion of the Remote Cohort will also collaborate in-person at the University at Albany, SUNY on February 5-7, 2025 to draft key project specifications.
Compensation:
All participants will receive a $500 honorarium, with an additional $500 honorarium and $1,200 in travel support for the in-person cohort.
We strongly encourage applications from individuals who identify with underrepresented and marginalized populations.
Application Process:
Please complete the application form<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc1wXyyPCRoc-MNZOKdgEQrbZWJieCV_IOwEU6JJfQz4RJMlA/viewform?usp=sf_link> and either upload a CV/resume or email a CV/resume to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>, by the end of October 11th.
