My esteemed listmates,

I've watched mass quantities of YT videos and read lots of Googled
results but most include using a Google app  or some app of
questionable intent(s) to help.

Patron wishes to buy a smartphone for their dad but wants to be able
to set up parental type controls as the dad doesn't have dementia )as
determined by a neurologist and testing) but has been vulnerable to
nefarious characters with ill internet on social media including
Instagram and Facebook.

The dad needs to be able to use a smartphone to make certain phone
calls (beyond 911), to surf the net for trusted info and check for
trusted emails.

Have you parents found ways to set parental controls so kids can't
post photos on Instagram, Facebook or other social media sites and/or
limit how the smartphone camera can be restricted ?

How do you protect kids but still let them use their smartphone in a safe way?
