Georgia Southern University runs ILLiad in house on a Windows server. We
have had some instability in the past to where restarting would temporarily
clear problems, but more like having to restart about once a week. At
present, I don't think we have this. We basically have done software
revamp / maintenance a little bit at a time. Some good things to do are:
Do a ticket to OCLC to look at your Add Ons, including ones you don't have
active / toggled on but you still have the code installed, and tell you if
any are no longer maintained. We had had some Add Ons installed which had
been deprecated, and we got rid of those. Work through settings in the
software and look at instructions for each setting. If you see a setting
which isn't supposed to be there, or you don't see a setting which is
supposed to be there, investigate by researching in the documentation and
then a ticket to OCLC to ask about the discrepancy, then resolve anything
that comes up. And, of course, routine upgrades.
SInce you are having to restart frequently, or else have problems, you
might could do a ticket to OCLC, turn off the scheduled task for
restarting, and instead wait for problems to occur and then pull logs or
other info for OCLC related to the recurring problem and see whether they
notice anything.
My understanding is that you get basic support from OCLC (can open
informational tickets) along with the billing plan for getting code updates.
