Also, most of the cameras that are used for traffic control that are near the traffic lights look out from the intersection (I think they rely on power/data connection from the lights) . They won't show what the intersection looks like as you approach.
Red light cameras might be at the right angle for that, but those are used by the police and less likely to be available to the public, and are typically much lower in number.
