Dear all,
The Open Preservation Foundation is pleased to welcome the National
Archives of Ireland <https://www.nationalarchives.ie/> as a new member.
The National Archives of Ireland (NAI) is the official repository for
records of the Irish State. Their remit includes the preservation and
provision of access to records from Departments of State, government
agencies and private collections. Their work in digital preservation is in
the early stages.
“The National Archives of Ireland is at the start of a digital
transformation process. It is essential that we learn from colleagues
across the sector in order to overcome many of the difficult challenges we
face. Membership of the OPF will help us navigate current and future
challenges and will form a key component of our upskilling programme.”
“We are so thrilled to welcome the National Archives of Ireland to our
membership community,” said Julie Allen, Executive Director of the OPF. “As
they begin this remarkable journey, we are excited about their commitment
to the digital preservation community and we look forward to working with
them to support their mission to safeguard Ireland's historical, legal and
governmental heritage.”
We thank the NAI for their membership; each of our members strengthens our
impact, gives us the means to commit to more, and enables us to better
serve the digital preservation community.
