Dear colleagues,
We invite you to attend an Open Community Call on Delivering Archives and Digital Objects: a Conceptual Model (DadoCM)<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-mATld2FJLL7V5b_PYawaGUS8BO3Vawo6AISj6zoMqg/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.4wnop8mtzl6g> at 2:00pm Eastern time on July 15th, 2025. DadoCM is a minimal, system-agnostic framework for describing digital objects with archival principles.
Please register here<https://albany.zoom.us/meeting/register/JtiU3Ik5TcC9gkhpDjFFYA> at attend.
Extended Feedback period:
We’ve received a wealth of insightful and largely positive feedback from practitioners on DadoCM’s impact, along with constructive suggestions on closing remaining gaps. We sincerely thank everyone who has contributed so far for their thoughtful engagement.
We are extending the open comment period until after the Open Community Call. For actionable feedback, please visit the draft document<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-mATld2FJLL7V5b_PYawaGUS8BO3Vawo6AISj6zoMqg/edit?tab=t.0> to leave inline comments, or submit feedback via the Feedback Form<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfNXFXHRdTjYMXlfGLyd0WA1xUbN8KYnpW3Byvq2o64werp-g/viewform> by the end of July 16th 2025.
IMLS Update:
We originally received a termination notice in April for the IMLS National Leadership Grant that supports this work. On May 21st we received notice that our project was reinstated due to the preliminary injunction in State of Rhode Island v. Trump, which may still be impacted by an ongoing appeal.
The IMLS is foundational infrastructure for libraries and museums across the U.S. We encourage readers to follow ALA recommendations in support of the IMLS<https://www.ala.org/advocacy/show-up-for-our-libraries>.
Best,
ArcLight Integration Project Team
