Subject: Re: [CODE4LIB] Update - Code4Lib 2026 Conference
I also would like to thank the Diversity Scholarship Committee's firm resolve to not make the demanded changes! I was incredibly disappointed that the first response to the announcement indicated a willingness to cave to this current US administration's neo-segregation efforts and quite frankly, deeply hurt at the thought that our colleagues would be so willing to throw those of us who are part of minoritized communities under the bus.
I know that a great deal of work goes into conference planning and I am angry on the behalf of everyone who has dedicated their time and effort into planning C4L2026. I hate that CMU and the conference planning team has been put into this position.
The only way out of this *waves at everything* mess is through solidarity and I hope that the conference planning team's upcoming difficult decisions reflect that solidarity.
Sincerely,
Ayla Stein Kenfield
