One to take a look at. New York has a new 3D printing law on the books that will require printing coordinates to be validated by a secondary service/registry before printing is enabled.
The law is supposedly about "gun control" specifically 3D printed ones, but the argument is flawed and the ramifications for those using 3D printers go much further.
In digital preservation I know we're using 3D printers for creating components for floppy disks, and housings for different disk drives and components.
There may be wider implications for those in GLAM such as protecting the privacy of patrons.
