======================================

The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) is sponsoring the
above symposium to be held in Washington DC on April 24-25, 2002.

“The State of Digital Preservation” will focus on international developments
in digital preservation and identify the emerging challenges. It is an open
meeting, and registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served
basis.

The program attached with this message provides more information on the
symposium's program and location.

For your convenience, CLIR is now offering online registration for the
program at http://www.clir.org/registration. Alternatively, you may complete
the attached forms and fax them to CLIR at 202-939-4765.

CLIR has booked a block of rooms for the meeting at the Radisson Barcelo
Hotel 2121 P Street, NW, tel.: 202-293-3100; fax: 202-857-0134. Please make
your reservations directly with the hotel; mention that you are with the
“CLIR Meeting” to receive CLIR’s negotiated per-night rate of $159. You will
need to make your hotel reservation by April 3, as the hotel will release
all unreserved rooms for general sale after that date. There is no charge
for the meeting, but institutions are asked to cover their own travel and
hotel costs.
