Maybe different shells? Since at least Ed Summers said it would be interesting to see the Python code I alluded to earlier, I've put together a (hopefully self contained) package with some of our basic Python MARC-21 modules. Those interested should find a compressed tarball at: http://staff.oclc.org/~hickey/obib/obib.20040527.tgz. There is a readme.txt file in there with some minimal explanation. I'd be interested in comments and suggestions.
