Forwarding for a colleague, and continuing the JOBS4LIB trend: University of Washington Libraries (Seattle, WA) Digital Initiatives Student Summary: Student needed to assist University Libraries Digital Initiatives unit in a variety of duties related to the creation and maintenance of a digital library. Tasks as diverse as light programming and data entry will be part of the job. Student will also maintain data, research technology related problems and do small scripting tasks. Hours: 10 -15 a week Pay: $15/hour Knowledge and skills needed: • familiarity with UNIX and Windows operating systems and directory navigation • knowledge of a scripting language such as Perl, Javascript or XSLT • flexibility to engage in both mundane and complex tasks This is an excellent opportunity for someone to learn the many facets of digital library work.
