North Carolina State University Libraries is seeking a creative and 
analytical person for a Business and Technology Applications Analyst 
position in Information Technology.

The Information Technology department develops, implements, and supports 
advanced information systems for the Libraries.  The department consists 
of 4 developers, 4 librarians, 6 operational staff, and a management 
team.  Working closely with librarians from IT, Digital Library 
Initiatives, and throughout the Libraries, the successful candidate for 
this position will develop a wide range of applications, including 
digital repositories, search and retrieval systems, and next-generation 
digital library tools. 

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and experience designing and 
developing complex applications using Java and JSP.  Experience with at 
least 3 of the following: PL/SQL, XML/XSLT, ColdFusion, PHP, Javascript 
and Oracle. Experience modeling complex relational databases.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in library or academic environment. 
Experience with Hibernate, Spring and Oracle database administration. 
Familiarity with library metadata standards such as METS, MODS, and 
OAI-PMH.
