Dear Colleagues:

Our project, the Works of Jonathan Edwards Online at Yale University makes use of TEI-encoding to store and annotate Jonathan Edwards' manuscripts, and applies multiple rounds of XSLT to produce different HTML renditions, depending on whether the user wishes to see a diplomatic transcription or a more readable version which takes into account all the hand-edits made to the manuscript.

What we hope to have is word-processor-like editing software to hide the underlying XML representation from the editors.  We have so far not found anyone else working on the issue of editing post-XSLT in a way that changes can be mapped to the pre-XSLT XML.  Our question is if there is anyone who knows of any work already being done on this problem, or if anyone would be interested in partnering with us to tackle it.  We have ideas on how to approach the problem, but (naturally) limited resources.

Please email us at [log in to unmask] if you have any thoughts, ideas, or interest.

Best,

Caleb Maskell
