Oversees staff and technology resources. Researches digital library technologies and works with the Library's research and development group to pursue new and innovative technologies. Position Qualifications: M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited institution or an advanced degree from a computer science / information science program combined with significant experience working in a library environment. Demonstrated supervisory experience; experience in digital library technology development and implementation; proven ability to plan and implement information technology services within a library setting; effective communication and interpersonal skills; and demonstrated leadership skills. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: Php, Perl, Ruby, Python, Java; experience working on Linux / Unix and Windows servers; experience with GIS applications; knowledge and / or experience with the following digital library standards: OpenURL (Z39.88), COinS, unAPI, Z39.50, SRU/W, OAI-PMH, SUSHI, Marc/XML, MADS, MODS, METS, TEI; experience with Innovative Interfaces systems; a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
