National Marketing Database description

Our client has a continuous need for images of products represented by our
client and its wholesaler/distributor competitors for a variety of business
functions. The primary applications that would run off the database are
sales-focused, i.e., they aid the sales person as he or she calls on an
account. Other beneficiaries include category management, POS warehousing,
and web and corporate marketing. All these parties have created their own ad
hoc procedures for obtaining product information and images, constituting a
companywide duplication of efforts that is wasteful in terms of cost and
productivity. What is more, the various images and content collections are
of variable quality, are not shared between sites within the same state, and
fall short of encompassing the entire portfolio.

The National Marketing Database would address the challenge of disjointed
efforts to obtain product images and marketing information. The processes
developed to generate images and content stored in the database would
facilitate quality control, sharing of resources, and comprehensiveness
(i.e., images and information on the entire catalogue, rather just a subset
of items, would be accessible via the database).
