Description: The customer is looking to develop a system to archive documents and files that are currently in various formats and store them in a unified organized fashion. The Archivist will make recommendations about technology and implementing best practices and standards for digitization and preservation of historically significant collections based on experience and research. Requirements include: strong computer skills for the organization, storage, and retrieval of archival documents and digitized collections; three to five years archival management experience in an institutional / Library setting; proven leadership skills and knowledge of management techniques; and knowledge of digital libraries including best practices and standards for digitization and preservation of historically significant collections. Successful applicant must demonstrate ability to work with colleagues in collaborative and team environment as well as independently; evidence of problem-solving skills; excellent oral and written communications skills.  ALA accredited MLS or an international or work-related equivalent with appropriate coursework and/or certification in archives management.
