Library Associates Companies (LAC) is seeking for immediate
consideration a dynamic and organized candidate for the position of
Assistant Librarian in a high-tech/Internet environment in Silicon
Valley.  This position offers opportunity for professional growth and
might be ideal for an MLIS student looking to work in a fast-paced
corporate library.

 

Primary Responsibilities

*        Reconcile and prepare library materials for shelving

*        Run and process required SirsiDynix Horizon ILS system reports
for library

*        Fill item requests and handle daily mailings

*        Process new titles and serials

*        Maintain daily library stats 

*        Perform recalls of materials

*        Review All-Request List

*        Shelf-read

*        Follow up with missing shipments; update Horizon system

*        Ordered library supplies

*        Assist library customers with locating materials

*        Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

*        Enrollment in program and/or coursework toward Master of
Library & Information Science strongly preferred

*        Library experience preferred

*        Strong organizational skills mandatory

*        High comfort with technology, computers, new software programs,
new systems, etc.

*        Ability to self-teach in a fast-paced environment

*        Flexibility and adaptability

*        Punctuality and reliable attendance

*        Must have 2 years' solid work history.
