** Apologies for cross-postings **

Are you looking for challenging opportunity in digital preservation - or
do you know someone who is? We are pleased to post this digital
preservation specialist position. The person in this position would work
with the digital preservation team at ICPSR, including the workshop
instructors at Michigan and beyond, on developing the next stages of
the Digital Preservation Management workshop series
(http://www.library.cornell.edu/iris/dpworkshop/
<http://www.library.cornell.edu/iris/dpworkshop/> ). Anne Kenney and I
developed the workshop series with a team at Cornell University Library,
and we are moving the workshop to ICPSR at the University of Michigan in
Ann Arbor. We will be developing a train-the-trainer program and a set
of 1-day and 2-day topical worksjops, as well as offering four more of
the 5-day workshops over the next 2 or so years (we hope the next 5-day
workshop will be in October 2008 - we will announce the dates
separately). We are working with organizations in the UK, Australia,
Africa, and across the US to extend the network of providers and the
instructors for the workshop series. The posting will be open until
March 4.

Please circulate this announcement to anyone you know who might be
interested. We are looking for someone who has gotten a start in and
has an interest in digital preservation, who enjoys (or thinks they
might enjoy) presenting as an instructor, who is enthusiastic about
digital preservation and curation, and who would like to be part of a
team that is tracking what's happening in digital preservation research
and development. See the bottom of the announcement to get more
information about applying for the position.
