Programmer/Analyst II for Mass Digitization California Digital Library University of California Office of the President Oakland, California Position Description: The California Digital Library (CDL) has an exciting opportunity to provide key technical support to the mass digitization of significant library collections at the University of California. Reporting to the Technical Lead for Mass Digitization this position analyzes collections of digital content - such as images, sound files, or text objects - and creates automated routines that prepare them for inclusion in CDL repositories. Preparation and transformation of the content is performed using a variety of programming and scripting languages, depending on both the type of object being transformed and the environment in which the transformation is taking place. This position also serves as an analyst in assisting in the evaluation and documentation of the needs, assumptions, and characteristics of the mass digitization projects and to prepare CDL programs and services for interaction with this content.
