This is a short notice announcement of an upcoming conference entitled “Community Approaches to Digital Preservation”.  The conference date is Friday, February 20, 2009 (9 AM – 5 PM, Lunch provided as part of $85 registration fee)

The venue is the Atlanta University Center Library, located at 111 James P. Brawley Dr., SW, Atlanta, GA 30314.  Please find attached a flyer / registration form that you can share with your colleagues, with additional information at the following URL:

The Community Approaches to Digital Preservation Conference will explore collaborative community-based approaches to digital preservation services.  The event will include speakers from several digital preservation efforts, especially private LOCKSS networks, as well as experts in particular preservation standards, policies, and procedures.  Martha Anderson of the Library of Congress will keynote; more information is available in the attached flyer which can be distributed to others, as well as at the URL above.  Many thanks, and hope to see some of you there.
