Hello all,

It looks like most of us can make the NDSA standards WG call this
Wednesday the 17th from 4-5pm eastern time, so please hold that time
on your calendars. Jimi will send out the call logistics shortly.

The primary agenda item will be to get input for the standards working
group scope statement (an example partially filled out for the
outreach group is attached). Each of the NDSA working groups is
completing one of of these scope statements before mid-December. It
includes items such as our scope of work and when and how we'll meet.
If you are not able to make the call, and have suggestions for any of
the document's sections, you can email them to Jimi or I. There will
also be a chance to to review the scope statement once its drafted
either later this month or in early December.

thanks,
Andrea

> Hello fellow NDSA Standards Group people! I just spoke with my Standards Group Co-Chair Andrea Goethals about our next steps for this working group. We'd like to schedule an hour-long conference call with all of you (or as many of you as can make it - we understand how difficult it is to schedule for a group of people this size). I've created a Doodle poll here:

Attached you'll see a loose outline that our compatriots in the Outreach Working Group have already started working with. I think this would be a good "spine" upon which to hang our ideas. To that end Andrea and I would like you all to look at this document and come up with some ideas of how we can personalize it for our group. Specifically we want to plug in our ideas for "Action Teams" in the Participation section.

If you haven't done so already, please check out the ideas we have here and vote on them. And please, if you have any ideas you'd like to add, please add them so we can vote on them. These ideas will be at least some of the work that the Action Teams will be doing. It's our goal that the Action Teams will do work that will yield concrete results (we can talk about what these may be in our conference call next week) by Summer 2011. Once Andrea and I have heard from  you next week she and I will put together a strong draft of our Scope Statement. It's our plan to meet with you again early December (likely the week of Dec. 6-10) to get your thoughts on the draft.

In the meantime, please go to the Doodle poll and put in your free times and take a look at the attached document and the IdeaScale space. Andrea and I are looking forward to talking with all of you!
