Dear Michelle and NDSA Members --
Thank you for providing a snapshot of all the activities surrounding the
NDSA initiative -- very exciting direction. Similar to Eileen Fenton's
request can you add Stephen Abrams <[log in to unmask]> to the
group list so he can benefit from the discussion. Stephen will be
attending the Dec. 15-16th meeting in my place and representing the CDL.

Dear Members,

It is exciting to report to you about the flurry of activity currently
happening within the National Digital Stewardship Alliance.

A number of member organizations have volunteered to develop the
organizational structure for the first three years of the Alliance.
Teams were formed around three topics:
    * Mission and Values
    * Membership
    * Organizational Structure
Each of these teams is in the process of creating recommendations on
their topics. These teams will convene to review and refine all the
recommendations into a cohesive whole at a workshop in December. The
suggestions from that meeting will be circulated to the entire Alliance
to review and ratify in early January 2011.

The working groups have also been very active. Each of the five working
groups (Content, Infrastructure, Innovation, Outreach, and Standards)
has begun to draft a charter, develop a work plan, hold calls with
working group participants, and schedule regular meetings.

Ideas for work that were articulated and voted upon at have influenced the draft work plans. Help direct
the work ahead by adding your own idea or commenting on one already
there. You can also contact your working group co-chairs directly:
