To be clear, you wouldn't want to be what I call a "registrar" (not sure if that's what DOI calls them), which is a much higher-level infrastructural agency like CrossRef or DataCite, that is responsible for a huge chunk of DOI's with it's own high-level DOI namespace. I am not sure _what_ you'd want to be. If going through CrossRef, then I guess you'd want to join CrossRef. If going through DataCite, then I suspect the EZID service is sufficient and there's no reason to do anything else. And of course you could do both. Or something else entirely that I don't understand, I probably still don't have the whole picture of DOI possibilities. Jonathan
