Before voting begins, can the C4L2012 committee contact each of the nominees to see if they would be able to attend and speak if voted? It seems fruitless to vote for a speaker who couldn't even commit to the conference, and I think if we removed nominees that knew they could not accept our request may change the voting significantly.
