Hello all. I've put the notes for yesterday's WebEx on our Standards Wiki (scroll most of the way down from the home page for our wiki space). There's also a link to the WebEx recording. In case you are not able to access the wiki I've attached the notes to this email. I think I left people out of the participants list (sorry!) so please feel free to edit that - and anything else I've left out - on the wiki. I've also made a page on the wiki for us to start compiling a list of what digipres-related pages already exist on Wikipedia and the pages that are NOT yet on Wikipedia but we'd like to put on there. If you scroll down on the Standards wiki home page you'll see a link to this page in the section called "Work Spaces for Standards Survey." Please contribute to these lists! Below is an excerpt from the notes that details what we'll be doing over the next month in preparation for our next WebEx in December. Thank you all! Excerpt: After some discussion the group decided that the best way to proceed may be to use the Digital Preservation entry on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_preservation) and conform it to our needs. We can also point to digipres-related standards from there. In effect, this page would become our portal. A cursory glance during the meeting showed that it has a considerable amount of high-level information already and it receives pretty regular hits. Stephen recommended that anyone on the group who is interested should take a look at this Digital Preservation page and see what's there and, more importantly, what's not there. Stephen's going to take the first crack at this and share his thoughts on the Standards listserv but we should all join in with thoughts. This will have the added benefit of spurring conversation on the listserv, which is always a good thing! Our other bit of homework is to start compiling a list of existing digipres-related Wikipedia pages. Jimi will make a space on the NDSA Standards wiki for this list.
