What's the call-in access code? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jones, Jimi" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2012 12:16 PM Subject: [NDSA-STANDARDS] Next NDSA Standards WebEx - Tuesday, January 17, 3:00 EST Hello NDSA Standards group members! Just a reminder that we'll be having our January NDSA Standards working group WebEx on Tuesday, January 17, from 3-4 EST. At the bottom of this email is the WebEx connection information. There are a three topics for the meeting. * First I think we should talk a bit about the group and where it's going. I'd like to find out what people want to do in the group, what you'd all like to get out of the group and get your thoughts about the group's direction. * Second Andrea will talk about the work she's done with Wikipedia with respect to our standards survey. You can see some of the statistics she's compiled and other work she's done on the WikiProject page here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Digital_Preservation. Andrea will unpack this work for us. * Third I'd like to switch gears and make this part of the WebEx a working meeting. I'd like to look at the staffing and standards adoption surveys (#2 and #3 on this page on our NDSA wiki: http://www.loc.gov/extranet/wiki/osi/ndiip/ndsa/index.php?title=Standards_and_Best_Practices_Working_Group) and start compiling questions for these surveys. I'm hoping this will represent a shift from strictly informative WebEx meetings to working meetings in the future. We'll also take some time to allow new group members to introduce themselves - this is something we plan on doing at the beginning of each WebEx meeting. In future meetings I would like to start rotating notetaking duties through the group but for this meeting Andrea has agreed to take notes. Starting February at the beginning of each meeting Andrea or I will ask someone on the WebEx to take notes. I'm looking forward to our conversation on Tuesday. Please come prepared to take all of the above - especially the "quo vadis" questions in the first bullet above.
