> Duties include, but not limited to:
>
>    1. *Bibliographic and Business Rules Metadata *
>
>

>
>    Prepare metadata for titles to be submitted to the company database.
>
>
              Preparation tasks include:

> performing queries in a bibliographic source database to obtain metadata;
> integrating  publisher-provided metadata with metadata from other sources;
> normalizing data to meet the company’s metadata standards;
> proofreading metadata for typographical errors;
> compiling business rule metadata to support company  business models.
>
>    1. *Metadata Maintenance and Updates*
>
>         Maintain an accurate and complete database of pre-submission
> metadata. Perform weekly metadata updates for price and business
>         rules changes.
>
>    1. *Quality Control*
>
> Responsible for accuracy and quality of metadata in company databases.  Conduct
> daily, monthly, quarterly and annual audits to identify problems and
> correct records and ensure the data is normalized to company standards. *
> *
>
>    1. *Metadata Ticket Queue*
>
> Analyze and correct errors reported by customer support, sales team,
> and/or content providers.  Resolve incidents within defined timeframe
> established by the department.
>
>    1. *Metadata Policies and Procedures*
>
> Participate in exploring, evaluating, reviewing and developing new
> standards and technologies to be integrated into existing metadata policies
> and procedures.  Keep current with trends, innovations and best practices
> affecting metadata and digital collections.
>
>    1. *Metadata Special Projects*
>
> Assist with gathering and writing requirements for metadata projects
> designed to improve workflow and discovery.  Act as onsite lead and interface
> with Engineering team on assigned special projects.
>
>
>
>    1. *Recordkeeping*
>
> Content processing requires a large amount of recordkeeping that must be
> performed accurately and in a timely manner. Types of recordkeeping include
> documenting errors found in incoming metadata, notifying appropriate
> parties when classification is complete, and creating other documentation
> to support company’s content policies.
>
>    1. *MARC Records*
>
> Assist with MARC processing and perform some cataloging functions to
> ensure the quality of the metadata.
>
>  QUALIFICATIONS:
>
>    - Bachelors’ degree.
>    - Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library program preferred.
>    - 2-5 years related experience preferred
>    - Knowledgeable of bibliographic metadata standards (e.g., MARC) or
>    aspects of electronic resource management.
>    - Experience working with library industry and other databases and
>    ability to deftly enter and manipulate data within them.
>    - Excellent researching and problem solving skills, including the
>    ability to analyze, compare, evaluate, reconcile and order data.
>    - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong
>    interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with a diverse blend of
>    personalities to reach resolution and maintain strong relationships.
>    - Knowledge of Microsoft Office products; strong skills in Excel a
>    must.
>    - Ability to work independently and take ownership and lead assigned
>    projects.**
>    - Customer service-oriented.**
>    - Capacity to learn and master new technology.
