To promote Special Collections and Archives' resources by expanding online
presence through a variety of digital initiatives, including social media,
website content enhancement, and development and management of departmental
digitization projects. Manage organization and preservation of Archives'
electronic (born digital) collections. Represent Special Collections and
Archives on the University Libraries' web team and participate in other
activities of the department as needed.

  
**Minimal Qualifications:**

  * M.A. Degree in Public History, History, or related field from accredited university, or A.L.A. accredited M.L.S with American History background.
  * Coursework or training in archival procedures and practices as part of a graduate level program in archival administration.
  * Minimum of one year of archival work experience.
  * Knowledge of web applications for archives and web development. Experience in promoting archival collections via new technologies for diverse audiences. Digital project management experience.
**Preferred Qualifications**

  * Knowledge in one or all of the following areas: aviation history, local and regional history topics, including the history of medicine, aerospace medicine and human factors engineering, genealogy, and children's aviation literature.
  * Familiarity with word processing software, databases, and online systems for bibliographic control of manuscript collections (MARC, EAD, HTML).  
Familiarity with Accessibility and W3C coding and federal standards.

  * Familiarity with digital standards for photographic reproduction. Knowledge of basic archival preservation skills. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and team player.
  * Ability to work effectively with both academic and community patrons. Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment. Flexibility and ability to thrive in a dynamic and active department. Interest in archival education/teaching.

Essential Function 40%:

Promote Special Collections and Archives' resources by expanding online
presence through ambitious and innovative program of digital initiatives.
Create, maintain and provide content for all Special Collections and Archives
related websites, blogs, and social media accounts. Develop and manage large
scale digitization projects, working closely with Archives staff and the
University Libraries' Digital Services Department to ensure successful
completion, providing increased Archives' content for the Campus Online
Repository (CORE) and other Special Collections and Archives' web initiatives.

  
Essential Function 20%

Participate in and support departmental outreach activities. Serve as exhibit
co-coordinator and design and install both physical and online exhibits.
Conduct tours and deliver presentations, orientations, and workshops for a
wide variety of audiences. Participate in departmental special events. Promote
all outreach activities on SC&A web site, blogs and other social media
outlets.

  
Essential Function 20%

Represent Special Collections and Archives on the University Libraries' Web
Team. Maintain, update and add content to the web site. Participate in
creating, developing, and maintaining organization of web resources;
investigate important advances in web development and relay relevant
information to appropriate University Libraries' staff; review requests from
library departments and the Wright State University community

  
Essential Function 15%

Establish procedures for gathering essential metadata into finding aids to
support digital projects. Work closely with cataloging/preservation archivist
to establish best practices for the long term preservation and maintenance for
the Archives' born digital collections. Assist with collection processing as
needed.

  
Essential Function 5%

Assist with reference services for department including: collect and enter
data for reference and department statistics database; created monthly
reference statistical reports, including statistics for all SC&A blogs, web
site and other social media sites. Serve weekly reference desk shifts
