DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities of the
Web Services Librarian will be to provide vision and direction for all aspects
of the library's website; to work collaboratively with library staff in order
to provide and maintain quality online services and resources; to create new
and/or update the existing web pages; and to provide leadership in developing
new web-based applications. Other duties will include exploring how new
technologies can be implemented and used to the best advantage on the website;
delivering instruction to students and faculty on the use of website and
database content; serving as a liaison to a selected discipline; and
performing other related duties as required and/or assigned. Candidate chosen
must be available to provide reference service and supervision some evening
and weekend hours.

  
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include a master's degree from an ALA
accredited program in library or information science; and experience in web
design or development. The successful candidate must have a working knowledge
of Web standards and be able to develop websites and pages to W3C and ADA
standards, using HTML and CSS. Experience with Javascript, PHP, and MySQL is a
plus. Applicants having the knowledge and ability to use MS Office Suite, and
experience with Innovative interfaces' Millennium System and OCLC Illiad
interlibrary loan system are preferred. The candidate chosen will be expected
to have an aptitude for learning new technologies and demonstrated leadership
abilities. Strong management and organization skills, a high energy level, a
collaborative spirit, and demonstrated academic excellence are required.

  
SALARY: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
