Great news, folks. Our iPRES poster proposal was accepted. This means we'll have to plot out the course of the poster work at our next WebEx meeting (Monday, August 20 from 1-2 EDT). Below is some of the email the iPRES folks sent me. Note the details of how to produce the poster.

I'm looking forward to working with y'all on this poster. We'll talk more on August 20.

Best,

Jimi

Subject: iPRES 2012 notification for paper 48

Dear Jimi Jones:

We are delighted to inform you that the Program Committee for iPRES2012 welcomed your poster proposal and we look forward to your presenting it at the iPRES2012 Conference in Toronto.

There are three aspects to presenting a poster at iPRES2012.
First you will have a short paper on your poster, up to 2 pages in the conference proceedings. This requires that a camera ready version the two page paper describing your is submitted no later than the 28th of August and conforms to ACM guidelines: http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates. Acceptable file formats for submission of the final version of poster abstract are .rtf, .doc, or .docx (these can be generated in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word).

Second, at the conference there will be a session on the Thursday just after lunch where you will have 2 minutes to introduce your poster and encourage attendees to come and have a look at it. For this you should send to Andrew Drummond ([log in to unmask]) no later than the 15th of September a maximum of two powerpoint slides which you will use for your two minute presentation. We will concatenate all these into a single powerpoint to ensure that the pace of these brief presentations is maintained--the order of the presentations will be alphabetic by surname of lead author.

Third, there will be a formal poster session from 3:30pm to 5:30pm on Thursday.

Finally, there will a poster prize awarded for the top three posters.

When you set about prepare your short paper, brief presentation, and poster you should consider the comments of the reviewers who read your proposal as these may help you to make enhancements.

If you have not already registered for iPRES2012 could I encourage you to do so soon at https://ipres.ischool.utoronto.ca/registration-fees

You can also find out about options for travel and accommodation at: https://ipres.ischool.utoronto.ca/travel-accommodation

We had an extremely large number of proposals and they were all of very high-quality. This should be a very exciting and intellectually engaging iPRES2012. We look forward to your joining us.

Guidance on the Preparation of Your Poster:

The Posters will be accessible during the lunch and coffee/tea breaks on Wednesday and Thursday with the formal poster session taking place on Thursday afternoon from 3:30pm until 5:30pm.

You will present your poster during both sessions and at least one presenter must be with the poster during the Thursday poster session.

Each poster will have a space 46-inches wide by 64-inches high on which to place your display. The exact poster dimensions are up to you, but your poster must fit inside this space, so as to not encroach on others. We will have push-pins available. If you need other supplies, please bring them with you.

We suggest a font size of at least 24 points for your poster text.

As we will have a prize for the best three posters, it is essential that thetop left section of the poster must contain:

(a) Title of the poster

(b) Name and institutional affiliation of each author

Please put up your poster during the lunch break on Wednesday, October 3rd. All poster must be in place before the commencement of the first poster session at 3:30 pm Thursday, October 4th.

Your poster is your presentation. No electricity or tables will be provided.

Please take down your poster by immediately after the close of the Conference on Friday the 5th of October, but not later than 1pm.
