QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications include: * MLIS/MLS with Archives concentration or equivalent degree * Track record of managing similar projects * Two years library or archives experience with a supervisory component * Experience with digitization, metadata standards (e.g. MARC or Dublin Core) and database applications * Grant writing and grants administration experience * Facility with a large range of computer applications, particularly Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Excel * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Ability to relate effectively to a diverse array of librarians, archivists, IT professionals, student workers, and members of the community at large DUTIES: Responsibilities include: * Oversee all aspects of digitization, including hiring, supervision, and training of student workers and partners * Coordinate metadata creation with the library project team and community partners, and supervise student and full-time workers performing metadata entry using CONTENTdm, Excel, and other applications * Oversee quality assurance for imaging and metadata * Complete all paperwork, reporting, and documentation required by the granting agency * Devise and implement outreach activities with emphasis on promoting the project within the community and on attracting community partners for later phases * Chair project team meetings and develop additional communication strategies to keep the library and institutional partners informed of project status AVAILABLE:October 15, 2012.
