Maintain the Library's internal and web-based applications. Install and test
new Library internal and web-based application and integrate them into the
University web templates as needed; migrate data from older applications when
possible; train library faculty and staff to use the applications; locate and
test new library internal and web-based applications to enhance the Library's
missions; using the Library's Voyager ILS software and the automated Retrieval
System software, generate database reports as needed for the Library faculty
and staff. Employee must be skilled in major programming languages appropriate
for the library environment, including, PHP and MySQL; must have a good
understanding of relational database design and structured programming design;
must have direct experience with application development tools, processes and
systems development life cycle.

  
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information
systems, information technology, or related field; (experience may be
substituted for some of the education requirement); three or more years of
experience with programming and application development; understanding of
relational database design; excellent computer skills to include word
processing, spreadsheets, and database applications; must be able to respond
to emergencies, learn new technical platforms and tools, work as part of a
team, work independently in the development and testing of applications, and
work some nights and weekends; must be creative in problem-solving techniques;
effective communication (verbal and written), organization, and human
relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; successful
completion of background investigation prior to employment.

  
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Unix/Linux MS Access, JavaScript,
XML and CSS; experience with library data standards like MARC and Dublin Core

  
Salary Range: Minimum $33,464 to Midpoint: $41,831
