Position grant funded through June 2013. Normal hours Monday-Friday from 8:45 am to 4:45 pm, up to 40 hours per week. Requires physical agility, with the ability to squat, twist, and bend as needed. Ability to lift and carry weights up to 20 lbs. required. Associates Degree or BA preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. One to two years experience with Cisco and HP hardware running Windows Servers 2003/2008, Active Directory, Exchange 2010, and Symantec security products. Experience supporting users running Office 2007 or higher, FilemakerPro, and Adobe products. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of network operations and system management, along with the ability to trouble-shoot a variety of desktop support issues for a medium-size organization. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, along with a friendly, personable demeanor. First line of contact for all users concerning daily technical issues; escalates system or advanced issues to other IT staff as required. Provide system management and support, including regular security patches, system upgrades, and workstation builds. Functional support for users in a mixed environment (Windows XP/7, MS Office 2007, IE and Firefox, and Adobe). Hardware support for desktops, laptops, monitors, phones, printers, and mobile devices. Provides Tech/AV setups for meetings and other library functions as needed. Provide support via email and phone, or at user's location as needed.
