The Records Manager/Assistant Archivist serves as UWSP's designated Records
Officer with responsibility for compliance with the State's records retention
laws (Wis. Stat. 16.61). Includes interacting with all administrative and
academic offices on campus to ensure compliance by maintaining the traditional
paper records management system, developing a campus wide electronic records
management system, and educating staff.

  
The Assistant Archivist component of the position assists in developing and
maintaining the collections of the Archives, provides reference service to a
diversity of researchers, and manages the Archives when the University
Archivist is not present, including supervision of Limited Term Employees,
student employees and volunteers. This position reports to the University
Archivist.

  
Required:

  * Bachelor's degree in history or public history (MA in history or related field preferred.)
  * One year of experience in records management, archival reference service, and archives administration
  * Understanding of databases such as dot net, Encoded Archival Description, and Content Management
  * Strong written and oral communication skills
  * Strong service orientation
  * Physically able to lift 40-50 pound boxes overhead and able to work in dusty environment without adverse physical reaction
Salary dependent on experience and qualifications within Academic Archivist 1
salary range.
