Responsibilities: * Provide leadership in the management of library-wide information systems * Take an active role in the behind-the-scenes areas of library work with an emphasis on technology infrastructure and digital environments * Assist in the evolution and integration of traditional and electronic workflows, with particular emphasis on ebooks * Manage, analyze, explore, and design solutions for systems and software-related issues, including but not limited to: Integrated Library System (ILS), custom reports, interpretation of data collected by various servers, and systems upgrades * Investigate, evaluate, and recommend new technologies to improve access and delivery of information resources * Foster a digital environment that is conducive to successful user inquiry * Offer vision and leadership in planning for future information technology requirements * Write, implement, and interpret guidelines and procedures for library information technologies * Represent the library's technology concerns on departmental, university, and external committees, including statewide platform (MOBIUS) * Work closely with librarians, support staff, and Office of Technology personnel to ensure optimal systems' operation and integration * Participate in library-wide planning and policy development * Troubleshoot hardware and software issues as liaison to the campus Office of Technology Experience Required: * Ability to think critically, analyze problems, and develop creative solutions * Aptitude for analytical and detailed work * Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills * Ability to work independently and collaboratively to address diverse needs in a rapidly changing environment * Commitment to professional development * Faculty status requires the ability to meet the requirements of tenure and promotion as a faculty member through excellence in librarianship, scholarship, and service Preferred: * Experience with Innovative Interfaces ILS * Professional information technology experience in an academic library * Experience designing and providing training to groups and individuals * Experience with web design including tagging and scripting languages * A second graduate degree is preferred and is required for tenure and promotion Brought to you by code4lib jobs: http://jobs.code4lib.org/job/3883/
