Seeking an energetic, innovative, team-oriented professional to join our dynamic and forward-thinking library system located on the SW coast of sunny Florida. The Library Senior Supervisor, Technical Services administers the activities of the library system's Technical Services function and plays a key role in shaping the development of the library resources. The position is responsible for supervising a staff of professional, technical and clerical personnel involved with all aspects of library technical support services including acquisitions, collection development, cataloging, processing, interlibrary loan and delivery of materials to all locations. Incumbent will coordinate and establish work priorities for technical services; assist with budget planning and monitoring expenditures; and, gather data to prepare reports and statistics for the library system. Applicant should have knowledge of current trends, standards and emerging technologies in library support services; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; possess leadership abilities, problem-solving and decision-making skills; and be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the Manager of Technology. The County may require employees to make either a temporary or long-term, permanent transfer to another Library location to accommodate the organization's business needs. Requirement: Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to: A Master's Degree in Library Science from a graduate library school program accredited by the American Library Association. Five years of progressively responsible public library experience involving the application of specialized library science techniques; to include two years of supervisory experience. Ability to lift and carry objects of light weight up to 25 lbs. Possession of a valid Florida Class "E" driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
