Western Kentucky University seeks applications for the position of Assistant Professor/ ElectronicResources Librarian in the Department of Library Technical Services. This is a ten month, tenure eligiblefaculty position beginning on July 1, 2013 reporting to the Head, Department of Library Technical Serviceswith collaborative report to the Head, Library Public Services. For more information about our library, seeour web site at: http://www.wku.edu/Library/ Responsibilities include: facilitate the selection, acquisition, maintenance, access and licensing ofelectronic resources. Develops policies and procedures for managing electronic resources and overseeslicensing and compliance, tracking status, access and other technology issues. Prepares statistical reports on Chairs the library-wide committee for electronic resources. Assists with institutional repository andother digital initiatives. Shared responsibilities for reference and instructional services. Performs otherrelated duties as assigned. Research, service, and publication required for promotion and tenure. Requirements: ALA accredited MLS degree. Experience with managing issues and processes associatedwith electronic resources. Familiarity with emerging information technologies, and web technologies.Ability to lead digital initiatives in collaboration with librarians, faculty, and administration. Strongorganizational skills and the ability to respond efficiently to changing needs and priorities. Able tocommunicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a timely manner.
