Trinity University seeks applications from energetic, innovative librarians for its E-Content Analysis and Assessment Librarian position. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing assessment initiatives to support data-informed decisions related to the evaluation of electronic resources. In addition, s/he will provide leadership in identifying, licensing, acquiring, and trialing electronic resources and print serials. Other responsibilities include communicating with service providers, staff training, and participating in professional and scholarly activities as a faculty member. Specific Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the following duties: • Gathers, analyzes, and distributes data from a variety of sources to assess electronic resources. • Collaborates as a member of a team involved in the ordering, renewal, licensing, record maintenance, and assessment of electronic library materials. • Develops reports with a variety of assessment metrics on the relevancy and usage of the library’s materials to facilitate collection development decisions. • Oversees and manages new purchases of electronic resources. • Analyzes the details of consortia renewals and package deals. • Communicates information about library’s print and electronic subscriptions with vendors, publishers, and library staff. • Assists with the administration of Innovative's Electronic Resource Management module and other utilities. The E-Content Analysis and Assessment Librarian offers the Head of Discovery Services recommendations and suggestions relevant to his or her responsibilities; stays current with trends in academic libraries and higher education; participates in the life of the campus by serving on faculty committees, governing bodies, task forces, and so forth. Trinity University librarians serve as liaisons to academic departments and this position may engage in collection development and library instruction in assigned subject areas. This is an entry-level, full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track position at assistant professor rank reporting to the Head of Discovery Services. The successful applicant will exhibit qualities necessary to meet the requirements for tenure and promotion (departmental criteria in job performance, scholarly or research achievement, and service to the university and the profession). Required Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS in library or information science. Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills. Aptitude for detail oriented work, including strong analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, service-oriented, and dynamic environment. Evidence of experience with research-level electronic resources. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with issues and practices involved in the acquisition and maintenance of e-resources collections, including knowledge of licensing, consortia, and publisher practices and trends. Demonstrated skills in statistical analysis and spreadsheet programs. Experience using library management and electronic resources systems such as Innovative Interfaces Millennium and ERM software.
