**Job Summary:**  
The Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis is seeking a
team builder with technical skills and vision to oversee the continued growth
of the Bank's leadership role as a provider of historical digital
content. The Research Department hosts the FRASER Digital
Library and Archive
([http://fraser.stlouisfed.org](http://fraser.stlouisfed.org)) of historic
banking and economic materials. This digital library was
created in 2004, and has grown to over 40,000 documents. It
generated 87,600 visits in the past year. At this time, it
is the largest collection of its type in the Federal Reserve
System. In late 2013-2014, the System will be creating a
System Centennial website which will draw on this collection as well as
generate additional materials.

  
This position will continue to build the FRASER brand by facilitating
connections and partnerships that improve content, access, and delivery to
enhance digital scholarship. In cooperation with other
Research Department members, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis staff and by
developing System wide contacts, the coordinator will:

* Research, analyze, and recommend additional FRASER content  
* Suggest and help implement functional improvements and functionality  
* Build collegial relationships with other Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis staff, as well as staff at other Reserve Banks and the Board of Governors, including the Federal Reserve System historian  
* Will serve on the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis centennial committee, the System Subcommittee for Archives and Historical Collections, and other local, system, and professional groups, as appropriate  
* Give presentations on the use and value of FRASER to a wide variety of audiences  
* Oversee the continuing development of the Bank historical archive  
* Provide new learning in the area of best practices for digital librarianship  
* Maintain a competitive edge by using an awareness of new technology to improve FRASER usability and content  
* Be a reference for relevant standards and best practices  
* Collaborate with Economic Education and Data services to support other uses of FRASER, particularly educational uses  
* Be a member of the wider digital library professional community  
* Select, train, evaluate and develop Digital Projects librarian and scanning staff  
* Participate in the development of online exhibitions and new digital collections  
  
This position reports to the Assistant Vice President and Director of Library
and Research Information Services.

  
**Required Qualifications:**  
* Demonstrated leadership  
* Creative approaches to problem solving  
* Planning, coordination, and execution of successful collaborative projects  
* Familiarity with digital libraries and their role in the educational and instructional landscape  
* Knowledge of digitization best practices, standards, preservation, and metadata  
* Ability to create professional presentations and training for internal and professional groups  
* Excellent written and oral communication skills  
* Expert online research skills  
* 2 years supervisory experience  
* Master's of Library Science or Information Science or equivalent related work experience and education  
* Occasional travel required  
  
**Preferred Qualifications:**  
* Experience with digital imaging and preservation, project planning and management  
* Experience with the concepts and software/hardware applications used in organizing and presenting digital information  
* Experience with Special Collections and Archives
