This position functions as the information manager of the Utah Geological Survey (UGS) Library using library skills and GIS knowledge. The incumbent applies library science principles and practices, including reference/research, cataloging, circulation, collection development, serials, and digitization projects. In addition, the incumbent writes articles for the UGS newsletter and may create informational products to help answer some of the most frequently asked questions (e.g., a GIS map that correlates publications with geographic locations, and/or a guide that lists publications on a certain subject.) The incumbent serves a variety of patrons, including the Department of Natural Resources employees, researchers, and the public.
