Folks, Another new day and time for the NDSA Geospatial Content subgroup call! We'll now hold our calls on the 3rd Friday of each month at 11:00 a.m. Eastern. We'll start off by talking about collection development policies. Diane Papineau, the GIS Analyst at the Montana State Library will share the section of their policy that influences GIS staff and then illustrate their process of collecting spatial data (guided by policy) and archiving it as well as creating and serving both archival and active data to our GIS community (reference diagram attached). If time we'll continue an earlier discussion on the creation of a content "use case" on the stewardship of geospatial data. We can also begin discussion of reworking Steve Morris' Appraisal and Selection of Geospatial Data white paper (attached).
